welcome

The Laboratory for Genomics and Bioinformatics provides a full service DNA sequencing facility for large and small projects. The facility currently houses:

In addition, the facility provides colony picking and template preparation for large projects (>500 samples).

Forms to submit DNA samples for small-scale sequencing projects can be found here. For large-scale sequencing projects (>= 96 samples), please contact Dr. Allison Gillaspy (allison-gillaspy@ouhsc.edu)

Samples can be dropped of at the Biomedical Research Building (BRC1106) between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00. Turnaround time is approximately 3 days, depending on usage. Sequence data is generally made available online in a password-protected folder. You can now view chromatograms, download sequences, and download trace files online. Alternatively, data be deposited in individual user FTP accounts, obtained in disk format, or through E-mail, though online availability is preferred.

Recommended PCR cleanup methods include Qiagen and Wizard kits, Microcon concentrators, and USB PCR pre-sequencing kit 70995 or 70996. Alternatively, PCR products can be cleaned up using Shrimp Alkaline Phosphatase and Exonuclease I.
